Save the Planet Series

This engaging series introduces children to sustainability issues in a simple and fun way. The 'big issues' are presented to children using colourful illustrations and photographs in an easy to read format. The books include a range of activities that show readers how they too can make a difference!

How does the air we breathe become polluted? What are the alternatives to burning fossil fuels for energy? These questions are explored in this title using excellent examples relevant to young people's lives.

Save the Planet - Let's Recycle
What do we do with all the rubbish that we make? How can we stop using up all of the Earths valuable natural resources? The book shows how young people can make a difference through small behavioural changes to reduce waste and recycle.

Save the Planet - Protect Natural Habitats
How should we protect the world's natural habitats? How can we help stop polluting these environments? This title investigates these questions and other about how we can all help to protect natural habitats.

Save the Planet - Save Energy
How long will the oil, gas and coal we use last? What is global warming? Are there better ways of making and using energy? This title explores these questions and the impacts of energy use, particularly in relation to the everyday activities relating to young people in the home and at school.

Save the Planet - Stop Water Waste
How can we help keep our water sources clean? What can we do to reduce the amount of water we use? Students explore issues relating to water, its use and how we can help prevent pollution from entering our water sources.

Recipes for Success in Literacy

This unit of work for Year 3-6 students investigates the ecological issues that have arisen as a result of the introduction of exotic species. The unit of work also considers how culture and literature have shaped people's attitudes to species such as the foxes and rabbits.
